NSO Weekly Jan 15-20

Hey all, please see the link for the NSO Weekly Jan 15-20 Next Step Motto: Small steps are still progress!

We hope everyone was able to stay safe and warm this weekend. As of Monday, there are only 6 Instructional days remaining in semester 1, for non-diploma courses. Monday, January 22 is the last day of regular course instruction and to wrap up outstanding assessments. Please communicate directly with teachers is there are modifications needed to this timeline. Guidance counsellor Elli will be away Monday to Thursday. Please direct any urgent items to Janet, Aley, Mrs. Porter or Mr. Spady in the short term.

On January 29 & 30 we will start booking individual course starts for full-time students in 30-level diploma courses. February 1 & 2 we will start scheduling course starts for full-time students in 10 & 20 level courses. Students already set up with course access and materials should continue progressing along.

Student Password Reset and Enhancements: Division 2, 3 and 4: Starting Feb. 1, 2024, the Division’s student password policy will require all grades 4-12 student passwords to be at least 10 characters long and include a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols for added security. This change will be prompted on their next login on or after February 1, whether using a Windows PC or Chromebook. This update is vital for enhancing student cybersecurity and aligning with current best practices. Students requiring assistance with password resets should visit the school office, where office staff have access to a student password reset tool.
